About Me

Choosing to have Counselling or Psychotherapy is a big step for most people and it is important that you take time to find a Counsellor that is right for you.  Although Counselling is very much about you and your needs, learning more about me may help you make that decision.

I am an experienced, qualified Counsellor in private practice. I am a Registered Member of The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and am bound by their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

I first qualified to work in a business environment, but it wasn’t long before I realised I wanted to work with people on a more personal level, where I could really help make a difference in their lives. I developed an interest in Jungian Psychology and set off on my own journey of self-discovery, sometimes painful, experiencing first-hand the benefits of having the right kind of support along the way.

I trained as a Counsellor at the Re-Vision Centre for Integrative Psychosynthesis in London, a broad-based training which draws on a number of approaches to Counselling and Psychotherapy. This helps me to adapt our work to meet your specific needs. I also undertake Continuous Professional Development and receive regular Supervision, which supports me in the work we do together.

Alongside my private practice, I work as a Volunteer Counsellor within a local Counselling charity and a Support Worker for an organisation which helps vulnerable and marginalised people gain the independence they need to move on with their lives. I also have previous Counselling experience within a GP practice and Bereavement Counselling service.

As a trained Bereavement Counsellor, I am experienced in supporting people who are grieving following the loss of a loved one, or indeed dealing with loss of any kind. I also have a particular interest in the overlap between physical and psychological health, including supporting people through the process of obtaining and dealing with medical diagnoses.

Due to the nature of my work, I am not always available to answer the telephone. Please leave me a message, in confidence, and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Alternatively, you may wish to e-mail me or send a message directly to me from this website.

I look forward to hearing from you.
